“Radio reaches 32.3 million Black consumers weekly, according to Nielsen’s 2017 “Ethnic Audio Today” report. More importantly, radio is the leading reach vehicle among Black consumers, reaching 93% of the African American population each week, higher than TV (91%) and smartphones (81%). Urban AC and urban contemporary are the best radio formats to reach these listeners, grabbing 28.5% of total Black 12+ listening and 21.2%, respectively.”
